At GoVocal we are committed to ensuring our platforms are accessible to all users, regardless of their ability or the assistive technologies they use. To achieve this, we adhere to international accessibility standards and continuously work to improve our platforms' accessibility features.

Our Commitment to Accessibility

To ensure our platforms comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, we take the following steps:

  1. Third-Party Audits: We have our demo platform, which uses the same source code and functionalities as your platform, reviewed by a third-party agency specializing in web accessibility.

  2. Continuous Improvement: We regularly update our platforms based on audit findings and user feedback to enhance accessibility features.

  3. Accessibility Statement: Each platform has an accessibility statement accessible via the footer, providing detailed information about its accessibility features and any known limitations.

Visit your platform’s accessibility statement (accessible via the footer of the platform) for more information.

What does this mean in practice?*

  1. Full Keyboard Navigation: The entire platform can be navigated using only a keyboard, crucial for users with motor impairments who may find mouse navigation challenging or impossible.

  2. Screen Reader Compatibility: Our platforms are designed to work seamlessly with screen reader software, enabling users with visual impairments to access and interact with all content and functionalities.

  3. Alt-Text Support: In the back-end of projects, we provide the ability to add alternative text (alt-text) to images, ensuring screen reader users can access information about visual content. We are working on extending this feature to all images across the platform.

  4. Color Contrast: We use strong color contrasts for fixed colors to ensure text and distinctive parts of the platform are easily readable and visible. For customizable colors, we offer a color selection tool that warns administrators if chosen colors don't provide sufficient contrast with background colors.

  5. Responsive Design: Our platforms are designed to be responsive, ensuring accessibility across various devices and screen sizes.

*For a more detailed overview of all the accessibility features and standards our platform supports, please consult the official Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 documentation here. This document provides comprehensive guidance on web accessibility, covering all aspects that ensure an inclusive and accessible digital experience for all users.

What You Can Do

While we strive to provide a highly accessible platform, there are several areas where our customers' action is crucial:

  1. Content Creation:

    • Ensure uploaded images have descriptive alt-text, when needed.

    • Use clear, concise language in all written content.

    • Structure content with appropriate headings to create a logical hierarchy.

  2. Document Accessibility:

    • When uploading PDFs or other documents, ensure they are created with accessibility in mind (e.g., proper tagging, reading order, alt-text for images).

  3. Video and Audio Content:

    • Provide captions for video content and transcripts for audio content.

  4. Regular Testing:

    • Periodically test your platform with various assistive technologies to ensure ongoing accessibility.

  5. Staff Training:

    • Provide training to your team on creating accessible content.

We are dedicated to continually improving the accessibility of our platforms. We welcome feedback from users and clients to help us identify and address any accessibility challenges.
