What is the navigation bar?

The navigation bar is the menu displayed at the top of every page on your platform. It helps users quickly access important sections like the homepage, project pages, About page, and any custom pages you've added.

A well-organized navigation bar:

  • Makes the platform easier to use.

  • Highlights what matters most to your community.

  • Reflects your organization’s structure or priorities.

The nav bar is customizable, you can change the order of items, rename pages, and link projects to it. However, some limitations apply: external links and folders cannot be added.

What is a custom page?

A custom page is a flexible, standalone page you create to share specific information with your community. It can be used for:

  • Department overviews (e.g., Public Works, Youth Services)

  • Project hubs (e.g., City Center Revitalization)

  • Consultation spaces (e.g., Budget planning input)

  • Resource centers (e.g., Public service FAQs, local events)

Custom pages can include:

  • A banner image

  • Rich content (text, images, video, links)

  • Linked projects (filtered by tag or area)

  • Attachments (e.g., documents or reports)

They can also be added to the navigation bar to make them easier for users to find.

How to create a custom page?

How to create a custom page:

  1. Go to Admin Panel > Pages & Menu.

  2. Click Create Custom Page.

  3. Add a Page Title (this will be the page’s main heading).

  4. Add a Navigation Title (this will appear in the nav bar).

  5. Set the Page URL (e.g. yourcity.com/urban-plan).

Editing the page content:

After creation, you can customize the following sections:

  • Hero banner: Add a banner image.

  • Top info section: Use formatted text, images, video, buttons, or links.

  • Bottom info section: Add attachments and rich content.

  • Turn sections on/off as needed.

Linking projects to the page:

  • You can link projects based on tags or areas.

  • Linked projects will appear on the right side of the custom page.

How to manage pages in the navigation bar?
