Why a platform launch checklist?

Before your platform goes live, there are several essential steps to take to ensure a smooth and professional launch. Some of these tasks are highly recommended and others optional, but completing the checklist will help you deliver the best platform experience from day one.

Many of these settings are long-term decisions that will rarely change, so think about potential future use cases when configuring them.

If any steps require assistance, you can contact the support team via the chat bubble at the bottom right of your platform (make sure you’re logged in).

Customizing Your Platform URL

Your platform needs a unique URL before launch. Decide on a clear and memorable address that reflects your organization or community. This URL will be how participants find and remember your platform.

Adding Your “Reply-To” Email Address

Automated emails sent from your platform don’t process replies. Add a “reply-to” email address so that any replies are routed to the right inbox (e.g., your support or info mailbox).

Adding Places of Residence

Set up your geographic areas (e.g., neighborhoods, districts, or zones) that are relevant for your organization. These areas will become key for smart groups, segmentation, and project targeting.

Finalizing the User Registration Flow

Define what information you want to collect during registration (e.g., age, residence, occupation). Locking in the registration flow ensures all projects collect consistent data from the start — making reporting and analysis much easier later.

Customizing Content Pages and Policies

Update your platform’s Privacy Policy, “About” page, and any other static pages. Include key details like contact information, support links, and any required legal disclaimers.

Adding a Custom Favicon

Upload a favicon (the small icon shown in browser tabs) to reinforce your platform’s identity. Go to yourplatformurl.co/admin/favicon to set this up.

Linking Your Platform to Your Website

Add your platform’s URL to your organization’s website so users can easily find it. You can do this by adding the URL in the General tab of your platform’s Settings.

Adapting Your Platform’s Look and Feel

Match your platform’s design to your organization’s visual identity. Customize colors, fonts, and branding so the platform feels like an extension of your existing communication channels.

Deciding on Notifications and Automated Emails

Review which automatic email notifications will be active when the platform launches. Choose which updates users should receive (and which they shouldn’t) to keep communication relevant.
