Understanding hidden vs draft projects
Unlisted Projects: Published but invisible on the homepage; only accessible via a direct URL.
Draft Projects + Preview Links: Still unpublished, but sharable for testing and feedback.
Both methods can be used flexibly depending on whether you want restricted participation or pre‑launch testing.
When to use preview link or unlisted project?
Unlisted Project:
Project is published but for a restricted audience.
Shareable via URL but not publicly visible.
Preview Link:
Project is still in draft.
Great for testing, stakeholder review, and UX validation.
Can regenerate links to revoke access.
How to (un)list a project?
Open the project’s General tab.
Toggle List/Unlist.
Listed: Appears on homepage & widgets.
Unlisted: Removed from platform navigation (e.g. homepage widgets) & search engines. Only accessible via direct link.
Note: You can re‑list/unlist at any time.
How to create and use a preview link
Creating a preview link
Preview links allow anyone, even non‑registered external stakeholders, to test a draft project.
Steps:
In the project back office, click Share (top‑right corner).
Click Copy link in the pop‑up.
Share this link with colleagues or external partners.
Key considerations:
The preview link respects access rights (e.g., user group restrictions or account requirements).
Ensure the phase is active and, for surveys, that Open to Participation is toggled on.
Regenerating a preview link
Click the circular arrow icon next to the preview link to generate a new one.
Note: Old links immediately become invalid: useful for revoking access.
